  • Overview: Marking the centennial of the March First Movement, and amid growing public and governmental interest in Japanese war crimes, this project expanded on the 2018 research program to identify and annotate materials that could illuminate Allied-led war-crimes trial policy formation and preparation as well as the broader question of war-crimes trials in Asia.

  • Details: Established selection criteria for key records that reveal Allied policy and planning on war-crimes issues through review of prior research and existing sourcebooks / organized war-crime-related themes into six categories and selected important materials for each / wrote both overview annotations for the full body of selected materials and detailed item-level notes to support close reading of individual documents.
