Overview: This project identified and fully surveyed modern buildings in Tongyeong, especially those built around the Japanese colonial period, whose preservation and reuse required renewed attention. It also built a database based on documents and field investigation and proposed strategies for conservation, management, and public use.

Details: Research on Tongyeong’s urban space and geographical and human environment / research on the residence of Japanese settlers during the colonial period and the reclamation of Tongyeong Port / a current-condition survey of 48 examples of modern architectural heritage in Tongyeong and study of the background and characteristics of each building / recommendations for conservation management, storytelling, tourism content, and other forms of public use.
